Celebrate Robert Burn’s Night on Saturday 25th January with traditional food, poetry and music. As his birthday falls on a Saturday this year you can expect a big celebration.
February kicks off with the Six Nations Rugby Tournament. Scotland takes on England on Saturday 8th February which is set to be a big match!
A month later and The Six Nations Rugby Tournament finds itself back in Edinburgh as Scotland takes on France on Saturday 8th March at Murrayfield Stadium.
Come and admire the beautiful display of flowers at the Royal Spring Flower Show held at the Royal Botanic Gardens on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th March.
The UK’s oldest and largest children’s theatre festival is The Puppet Animation Festival which takes place from Saturday 22nd March to Saturday 19th April at Summerhall.
In April, Edinburgh hosts the International Science Festival from Saturday 5th to Sunday 20th April. It was the world’s first science festival and is considered to be one of the largest with hundreds of events taking place around Edinburgh.
On Wednesday 30th April we celebrate the Beltane Fire Festival , an unmissable event full of fire, drums and dancing.
The Edinburgh Guitar and Musical Festival takes place this month with dates still to be confirmed.
May also sees many eager participants take part in the Edinburgh Marathon. This year it will be held on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May. Entries are closing soon so be quick to secure your spot!
Come and join the fun on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June at The Meadows Festival, which has local bands, dance groups, performers and lots of family activities.
The Leith Festival takes place from Saturday 14th to Sunday 22nd June and includes dance, theatre, film, music, walking tours, family entertainment.
The Royal Highland Show is also happening from Thursday 19th December until Sunday 22nd December.
