Are you planning to spend a few days in Edinburgh later this summer? Edinburgh is certainly the perfect place to be during August – but also at other times of the year! However, whenever city life gets that little bit too busy, here in Edinburgh we choose places like the East Neuk of Fife to take some time out and relax by the seaside.
With former fishing villages like Pittenweem and Anstruther this particular corner of Scotland has a lot to offer – for city dwellers looking to get away for the weekend, but also for people on holiday in the capital. It only takes one hour and twenty minutes in the car to make your way to Pittenweem (there is a regular bus connection too!). Here, you can enjoy the picturesque scenery, discover an ancient cave and a select number of quirky art shops and cafes. The neighbouring Anstruther is famous not only for being part of the beautiful east corner of the Kingdom of Fife, but also for its award winning Fish and Chips Restaurant. As you can see, Fife is definitely worth a day trip!
We’re always happy to provide our guests with further information on where to spend a day (in and) out of town during their time in Edinburgh…if you need any help organising trips for your stay in Edinburgh, please speak to reservations!
