In the spotlight: New Year’s celebrations 2012/2013 in Edinburgh

August 8, 2012 Posted in: Blog

The summer sun has been a regular visitor to Edinburgh during the past few weeks. Today, on this beautiful August day the city is filled with Festival performers, their audiences and other holiday makers….winter seems a world away.

However, here at The Walton we’ve had our first enquiries regarding accommodation for Hogmanay 2012/2013. The New Year’s celebrations held annually in the Scottish capital are world-renowned. According to a press  release made by the organisers of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay in April, visitors from 66 countries came to Edinburgh to celebrate the New Year 2012. Maybe you were one of them? Whether you’ve experienced Edinburgh’s Hogmanay before, or whether this is the first time you find yourself considering to come to Scotland to join us for our legendary Hogmanay events: Edinburgh is looking forward to having you! There’s a festive atmosphere in town all through December, but from 30th December – 1st January events like the Hogmanay Street Party, the Torchlight Procession and the magical fireworks going off against the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle are bound to fascinate you.

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2013′s motto  is – rather appropriately -  “Be lucky” ! Detailed programme information will be available from November onwards. If you’d like to learn more about the highlight’s of the 2011/2012 celebrations, please check out the official website – it’s also the best place to book your tickets!
