Autumn Shopping Break in Edinburgh

October 22, 2012 Posted in: Blog

There are many brilliant reasons to choose Edinburgh as your preferred shopping destination this year!

The city boasts a wide variety of areas dedicated to different likings. George Street with its stylish boutiques is only a five-minute walk away from our guest house.  If you are looking for high street shops, you can find these on Princess street. The Old Town boasts a lovely range of independent clothes and gift shops. And then within 5 minutes of The Walton you can find Stockbridge; known for it’s many vintage shops and delicatessen. And right next door to the Walton on Dundas street, theres a range of art galleries and Antique shops. Don’t forget the West End with it’s unique boutiques. Why not catch a bus around the corner to the Ocean terminal in Leith, wehere you can shop, visit the royal yacht and wine and dine on the Shore, Leith’s gourmet hub. Last but not least Edinburgh is the city of markets, any day of the week there will be a market in some part of the city; our staff can tell you exactly where!

There is only so much shopping which can be accomplished in one day….we like to think that Edinburgh offers many excellent ways to unwind after a busy day at the shops on any one day of the year! Each area has it’s own good restaurants, cafes and pubs, for every price range!

And if you wait till the 30th of November, the Christmas lights in the city will be lit and announce the official start of the festive season! Add to your shopping destination a visit to the German Christmas Market.

We still have rooms available for the festive season. For our best rates you can reserve a room online using the secure online booking system on this site. Any questions, feel free to contact us, our staff is more than happy to advise!
